My country has 3,260 km of coastline and many magnificent archipelagos. The various beaches are sure to please, from those who like the excitement of water sports to those who are looking for a place to stay and enjoy nature. Here are the 10 most beautiful beaches in Vietnam in my eyes.
1. My Khe beach, Da Nang
Vietnam’s 3rd largest city has a number of beautiful beaches. Here, there are destinations for all travellers, not far from the city centre. Water sports enthusiasts can visit My Khe beach, renowned for surfing, snorkelling, flyboarding…

If you’re looking for privacy, you can hire a motorbike and drive to the pristine beach of Tien Sa, north of the Son Tra peninsula. Other nearby attractions include Tien Sa harbour, Nam beach and the Linh Ung pagoda.
Da Nang is only about 30km from the ancient city of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, or the Ba Na Hills tourist area.
2. Sao beach, Phu Quoc
Nestling in the Gulf of Thailand, Phu Quoc is the country’s largest island. More than half of this teardrop-shaped island is tropical jungle, but the main tourist attraction are the beaches.

Sao beach in the south of the island, has fine white sand and clear blue water. Bai Truong is the most beautiful destination for watching the sunset, with works of art belonging to the Sunset Sanato Beach Club. You can take a sunset stroll under swaying coconut palms and enjoy the cool sea breeze.

If you fancy an island visit, don’t miss Mong Tay, Gam Ghi, May Rut and Dam Ngang. You can go fishing, scuba diving to explore the ocean or play sports on the water. Hon Thom, with the world’s longest cable car, is another suggestion. In addition to the beautiful beach, there is also an 8-hectare Aquatopia water park.
3. Tra Co Beach, Quang Ninh province
Located close to the Chinese border and around 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Mong Cai (border town), I find the magnificent Tra Co Beach. Bounty white sands and crystal clear water make sure you’ll never forget your visit to this beach. With the extensive beach of smooth white sand and blue transparent water, Tra Co Beach is the border of a natural island which is created by the impact of waves and sea stream onto the shore.

In the summer there’s also the Tra Co Festival which is held from July 20th till July 26th. The dates change every year so be sure to check. The festival celebrates and honors the spirits who protect the community. These spirits are enshrined in a 600 year old (1511) pagoda built by the Le Dynasty.
4. Con Dao
An archipelago of 16 small islands in the country’s southern sea, Con Dao is known for its sandy beaches, coral reefs and diverse marine life.
On the main island of Con Son, there are many options, from affordable guest houses and homestays to upmarket resorts. The largest is Six Senses Con Dao, home to Dat Doc beach. To the north is the pristine, cool beach of Lo Voi, ideal for families to organise camping and outdoor picnics.

The island of Bay Canh attracts many tourists who enjoy exploring nature and ecotourism. Located to the east of the main island, Bay Canh covers an area of more than 680 hectares and is an area covered with virgin forests and mangroves. The island’s ecosystem is extremely rich in coral, seaweed, fish and turtles.
What’s more, when you come to Con Dao, you can visit beautiful beaches such as An Hai, Ong Dung, Dam Trau or visit historical sites such as Ba Temple, Cau Temple, Con Dao Prison, Hang Duong Cemetery… .
5. An Bang beach, Hoi An
Hoi An is one of Vietnam’s most famous tourist towns. This former trading port is strongly influenced by French, Chinese and Japanese cultures, as evidenced by the rows of yellow-painted houses and colourful lanterns.
After visiting Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site, take time out to visit An Bang beach, Hoi An’s main beach.
The 2nd beach in Hoi An is Cua Dai beach. It is more local than An Bang beach.

The Cu Lao Cham group of islands is also a must-see destination in Hoi An. The island is recognised by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve, a typical example of the harmonious link between nature and man.
In particular, scuba diving to see the colourful corals at Hon Dai, Bai Xep is one of the most attractive experiences. There are over 300 different species of coral here, varying in shape, size and colour.
6. Nha Trang beach
Nha Trang has some of the most famous beaches in the world, attracting millions of visitors every year. The 7km-long beach in the city is the most popular destination. Here you can swim, parachute, surf and jet ski. In the high season from April to August each year, the beach is always packed with tourists.
If you’re looking for more secluded beaches, you can book tours to Mun Island, Coral Island, Hon Mot Island… There are a variety of experiences not to be missed such as diving, walking under the sea, banana buoys and surfing.
7. Doc Let beach, Khanh Hoa province
Doc Let beach belongs to the Ninh Hai district, in the town of Ninh Hoa, Khanh Hoa province about 50 km south of the city of Nha Trang. To the north of the tourist zone, there are numerous hotels and resorts.
The centre is home to pristine beaches. To the south is the seaside resort of Jungle Beach. Here there are rustic homestays with thatched roofs and bamboo columns resting on the smooth white sand.

This location is away from residential areas and there are not many hotels and resorts, so it is suitable for tourists who want to escape the noisy city and enjoy the peaceful sea view.
9. Mui Ne, Phan Thiet
Mui Ne, Phan Thiet is famous for its long coastline, the historic Cham Pa tourist area. In particular, this area is also characterised by white sand dunes and pink sand dunes, attracting tourists.

You can visit Hon Rom, located in the hamlet of Long Son, where there are calm waves, clear blue water and reefs. Hon Ghenh or Hon Lao is also a suggested swimming spot. The landscape here is very wild and peaceful. You can fish, scuba dive and even observe the coral reefs.
Mui Ne is also a tourist destination for discovering the life of fishermen. The 100 metre long fishing village with colourful boats, large and small, is where you can buy the freshest seafood.
10. Ly Son
With its remote location off the central coast, Ly Son Island, Quang Ngai is known for its huge crater remains and vast garlic farms. On Ly Son, Mu Cu Island doesn’t have many palm trees or resorts, but it does have geological areas and 50 local temples.
