1. Regent Phu Quoc

Stretching along Long Beach (Bai Dai), next to a UNESCO-recognised World Biosphere Reserve, the Regent Phu Quoc has risen to the top of the list.
Opening in April 2022, just after the reopening of the country, the resort has 302 suites and villas, and its six restaurants and bars offer Japanese and French cuisine as well as traditional Vietnamese dishes. The resort also has a fitness centre, meditation studio and rooftop yoga pavilions.

“Only the word incredible can describe this place. Incredible room, pool, gardens, breakfast and staff. Special thanks to Mr Tri for looking after us so well. Thanks also to the Rice Market restaurant staff: Mr Anh, Ms Nancy, Ms Yen and Ms Katrina, and to the breakfast restaurant staff: Ms Jolin, Mr Long and especially Ms Nhi who remembered exactly what I couldn’t eat when I ordered breakfast. 2. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

Stretching along a 700-metre private beach on the Son Tra peninsula, considered Da Nang’s ‘green lung’, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is in second place. It offers 201 rooms, suites, penthouses and villas surrounded by mountains and tropical gardens.
Located in the Son Tra Nature Reserve, home to some endangered species including the red-legged langur, the resort applies strict policies to protect wildlife.

3. JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa

The JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa, on the southern island of Phu Quoc, is ranked third.
Located just 15 minutes from Phu Quoc International Airport, the resort stretches along Khem Beach and offers 234 rooms, suites and independent villas.
Construction of the French-style resort began in 2015 and its doors opened in 2016.

“Amazing stay and the staff went out of their way to make our anniversary unforgettable. As soon as we arrived, the reception staff offered us a delicious tiramisu to celebrate our anniversary. Mrs Thu did a great job showing us around the place with detailed explanations. We had a romantic dinner by the beach while Sang and the Tempus Fugit staff took great care of our private dinner. Mme Vie from French and Co and Mme Diem from Red Rum were also very attentive and considerate. All in all, we’ll definitely be back for another anniversary.”
4. Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai

Around eight kilometres from Hoi An’s old town, the Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai is ranked fourth. Spread over 35 hectares and overlooking Ha My beach in the central province of Quang Nam, it has 100 villas and eight separate spa rooms, all designed in traditional Vietnamese style.

The resort has its own vegetable garden and uses environmentally friendly materials. At the heart of the resort is a small temple where fishermen pray before each trip.

“As well as a fantastic welcome, what really stands out here is the service, which is beyond comprehension because of its quality, simplicity and efficiency. Everywhere in the hotel, the staff are absolutely exceptional. Superb rooms overlooking the sea, several pools including one reserved for adults (what a great idea!), a magnificent beach. A sumptuous spa and divine massage. When you leave here, you take with you a little of the tranquillity that is the hallmark of this hotel. Thank you!”
5. Zannier Hotels Bãi San Hô

Zannier Hotels Bai San Ho, located in the central province of Phu Yen, is ranked fifth. It offers 73 suites and villas adopting the architecture of traditional Vietnamese villages, with thatched roofs and woven bamboo walls.
Interior decorations highlight the unique local culture with items such as dried gourds, traditional woven baskets and coconut shell tools made by local artisans.

7. Six Senses Con Dao

Spread over 12 hectares along Dat Doc beach, Six Senses Con Dao is ranked seventh. It is the only five-star resort in the Con Dao archipelago, a popular tourist destination in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Located within the Con Dao National Park, it offers 50 beachfront villas, built mainly from natural materials and each with a private swimming pool.

8. Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

Located in the bay of the same name, around 60 kilometres from Nha Trang city centre, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is ranked eighth. It comprises 62 villas built entirely from wood and rattan, with thatched roofs. No plastic bottles are allowed inside, making it one of the few eco-friendly resorts in Vietnam.

9. Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa

Located at the foot of the Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains), the Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa is ranked ninth. It has 198 rooms and suites, 160 flats and 22 villas overlooking Non Nuoc beach. The resort has five outdoor swimming pools and is a 30-minute drive from Hoi An.

“The hotel is simply fabulous. Everything you need, you can find in this hotel. Our stay was perfect, a magnificent room with a view of the sea, truly a dream. The room was very clean. We were greeted carefully and warmly, all the staff were excellent with us. The breakfast was just incredible, lots of quantity and above all lots of quality, which is not always the case with buffets. The pools are just magnificent, with sea views. We recommend a stay here, whether as a family or a couple, the hotel is perfect.”
